Extraordinary Protean Chair by Justin Porcano

The designer created this Protean Chair to allow the user to create the atmosphere that they were wanting at any given moment. The Protean chair can be arranged as a love seat with two end tables or if you wish, you can slide the chairs apart and create two separate seats with a table in between. Another exciting bonus is that if you feel like engaging in a deep conversation, you can flip the chairs allowing the users to look at each other while speaking or flirting, depending on your mood.

This extraordinary chair was created with an understanding of how our moods change on a regular basis. At times, we feel like being close to those we love and care about, other times, we like to have our space and just sit back with a good book or watch your favorite show and relax.

Table Chair by Joel Hesselgren

Nice furniture concept for small space interior such as apartments that gives you two function of furniture from one stuff. These modern table chairs can be either or depending on your needs. By simply pushing the two chairs together they transform into a table. Each chair has a notch to slide in one another. Now unused seating has some other place to go. When you’ve got visitors and need an extra chair or two you simply pull them apart.

St. Bartholomew’s Church Seating design by Qubus Design Studio

Designers Jakub Berdych and Maxim Velcovsky eschewed the glossy finishes of previous projects, choosing to embrace the original stone of St Bartholomew’s church in Chodovice. The result is a mid-renovation aesthetic which sees plaster and previous layers brought together in holy matrimony on the Baroque columns and vaulted ceilings.

Illuminating the inside are chandeliers of uncut crystal which helped keep Qubus within budget and are in keeping with the unfinished theme running through the nave. Pews have been replaced by rows of Verner Panton chairs, each with a newly-carved cross in the back. The alterations cost the artists their warranties on the Vitra furniture but it was a small price to pay. The chairs sit in militaristic formation on Persian rugs, somewhat secularizing the building’s purpose.

Still, the new interior manages to inspire awe and exude artistic merit in equal measure- in spite of it now looking a tad more luxury hotel than place of worship.

The BCN Stool by Harry and Camila

Barcelona based designers Harry and Camila have created the BCN Stool for the Italian furniture manufacturer Kristalia. Research into new furnishing materials has produced the BCN stool. The seat, with its visible curves and ergonomic feel, is in special plastic, generally used as insulation for electronic components, as it is highly resistant to wear and tear, solvents and heat. It is available with a tubular steel frame with chrome finish, or in a colour to match the seat: black, white or fluorescent green.

Ludus Modular Sofa from Mobilia Collection

The LUDUS modular sofa from the German furniture manufacturer Mobilia Collection. LUDUS consists of only three cushion parts: a seat cushion, a back cushion and a corner back cushion (optional) - and a lacquered MDF back part (library). LUDUS affords one a lot of opportunities to sit, lie, play, work or recline. It is up to you. If necessary you can transform it back into a classical club class suite for more serious purposes or, with the arrangement of seat cushions, you can make it into a bed, if your friends really don’t want to leave.

The back part incorporates a library shelf, which can serve as a practical storage space for books or all other items you need. It all makes for a delightful cosy corner in your home.
