Origami chair by So Takahashi

This Origami chair was presented by Oslo-based designer, So Takahashi. The chair is made from folded, powder-coated sheet metal. It was exhibited at 100% Norway at Designersblock in Covent Garden.

This is the second year So Takashi can count himself amongst the exhibitors at 100% Norway. Previously an interior designer for Snøhetta’s Løvetann housing project (shown in 2006), Oslo-based Takahashi works across spatial, print, packaging and product design disciplines, and this year is launching his Origami chair.

The basis for Takahashi’s design studio has been to combine commercial work with an ongoing exploration of design that, he explains, “floats between the different dimensions: 2D, 3D, audio. Whether it is a book cover, a chair an album or a performance, it is all part of the same exploration and creative process of designing an ouitput - an expression.”

Although he travels a great deal, it has been life in Oslo that recently inspired Takahashi to work on 3D objects. The Origami chair is the first product from many sketches that has come to be realised.

Modern Bar Stools from Bernhardt by Danerka

The Aro stool is a modern bar stool design from Bernhardt, by Danerka. Bound to fit in at any social gathering, they provide a handy and stylish seating solution. Their tall, stately figures are instantly noticeable… yet their repetition of a circle outline makes them friendly and accessible. The circle base in shining chromed metal gives the stools a wide, stable foundation.

Repeated in the frame, the second circle gives you a footrest. Lastly, each Aro stool is topped with a circular seat available in two wood finishes, and a white finish, for you to choose from. Sleek European style for your home entertaining – the Aro stool by Danerka would look great with a breakfast bar or cocktail bar alike!

Musical Chair

From the Designer :
Nourishing our appetite for the visceral, music provides for us a feast of sensation. The savory sounds that exude from this compression loaded design will feed that hunger for experience. Relish in the robust lows that emanate from the calcium carbonate poly-coned woofer seated in the belly of the chair. This delectable design is certain to add a little flavor to any dining experience.

Giant Sneakers Seating Design

This Giant Sneaker seating idea is look to common, the idea come from the sneaker shoes that we use everyday. But this modern chair furniture can be fit with your sneaker store or shop that you have. Yeah.., This modern furniture isn’t about comfy couches and designer garden chairs anymore. Instead, whatever looks appealing to the eye when you think like a geek, is what the in thing is. Few years back we could have never thought of a chair that replicates a sneaker but today it is a reality with the gigantic form of the shoes staging as a chair. Not only that, the Japanese hope people will pay something around 50,000 Yen for something this weird.
