Amoebe Highback Chair

"Most people spend their lives living in dreary, beige conformity, mortally afraid of using color. The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting." -Verner Panton.

The Amoebe was originally dreamed up for Panton's Visiona installation. It is a marvelous example of close-to-the-floor lounge furniture and embodies the spirit of the early 70's. Amoebe highback chair has a flexible backrest that curves over the head of the sitter, forming a sculptural canopy. In this way, Amoebe highback creates a sense of shelter and seclusion - especially in large, open spaces.

As one of the most influential and remarkable designers of the era, Verner Panton has created objects, spaces and art. His original, space age designs have won numerous awards and been exhibited in museums and private collections around the world. His ideaologies and design concepts are apparent and have had great influence on 21st century design.

Hella Jongerius - The Worker Sofa

Form follows feeling” – this is the creed that Hella Jongerius adheres to in her design work. Indeed, “The Worker” is appealing thanks to the strange interplay within it of handcraftsmanship and technological elements.

The Worker Sofa was created by Hella Jongerius primarily as an communicative piece of furniture that would be well suited to the kitchen, winter garden or reading room. Due to its compact dimensions, great comfort, and the light-hearted detailing that is typical of Jongerius' work, the Worker sofa also makes a good impression in the living room or lounge environment. Like the Worker chair, the sofa combines the qualities of traditional craftsmanship with modern construction methods and a subtle, sophisticated mix of materials.

Hella Jongerius has an ability to observe and interpret the way people live in today's world - analyzing contemporary needs with great precision and responding with thoughtful, meaningful objects. After working with the well-known Dutch design group Droog Design, Hella opened her studio, Jongeriuslab, in 2000. Her works in the field of textiles and ceramics combine industrial production with techniques and motifs inspired by traditional handicrafts.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec Alcove Sofa

A sofa can go beyond being merely a piece of furniture and become a room of its own within a room – this was the idea that prompted Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec to design the Alcove Sofa. With its unusually soft seat and backrest upholstery, as well as the high, flexible side and back panels, Alcove Sofa creates the frame for a comfy, safe and secure world, a place for relaxed withdrawal from the hustle and bustle of life: Two people can stretch out and sit opposite each other, leaning leisurely back against the side walls, and if required the sofa also provide sufficient space for a third person.

Alcove Sofa combines the contrasting qualities of a comfortable secluded relaxation area with an open invitation to enter and sit down.

The two brothers, Ronan and Erwan, have been working together since 1999. Their collaboration is a constant dialogue, nourished by their single identities and strived towards a common goal.

Today, the Bouroullec brothers work with numerous manufacturers such as Vitra, Cappellini, Issey Miyake, Magis, Ligne Roset, Habitat and the Kréo Gallery. They were named “Creator of the Year” in 2002, elected “designer of the year” in 2003 and have won multiple other awards. Their creations have been exhibited in many collective or solo exhibitions and are part of some permanent museum collections around the world.

The Alcove sofa includes two matching backrest cusions. Optional set of 2 armrest & 2 small backrest cushions also available.

Osorom Bench

Osorom Bench, the circular seating system by Konstantin Grcic is a skillful combination of emptiness and lightness. An environmental sculpture which boasts airiness wherever it is placed. Osorom’s frame, a combination of fiberglass and resin, conveys an idea of visual transparency.

Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. After training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England he studied design at the Royal College of Art in London from 1988-1990. Konstantin Grcic creates industrial products widely described as pared down, simple, minimalist.

Wiggle Stool by Frank O Gehry

Frank O. Gehry is one of today's most important architects. Gehry likes to use unusual materials for his architecture and furniture. With the furniture series Easy Edges, from 1972, Frank Gehry gave a new and surprising aesthetic dimension to cardboard, an everyday material. Recent masterpieces include the in Bilbao and the Disney Concert hall in Los Angeles. Gehry's unique vision and innovative use of materials has brought him numerous honors. Through his emphasis on collaboration in the creative process, Gehry continues to transcend the boundaries of design.Guggenheim Museum

Verner Panton Living Tower

"Most people spend their lives living in dreary, beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colors. The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting." -Verner Panton

"Living landscapes" was a major theme in 1960's design. Verner Panton, who was constantly searching for new ideas for the home, made a variety of especially interesting and original contributions to this theme, championing "more comfort, more of an experience, and more color". His Living Tower uses all three dimensions of a room.

The organically shaped sculptural piece can be used at four different levels. Panton believed that it is important to seek harmony between people and their surroundings... the living tower fosters communication and interaction. Vitra originally produced this piece in very limited numbers in 1969, and in an amazing display of inspiration, does so once again.
